Top Tips from Jay Baer at the Ad Farm Live Event

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Ad Farm Live event held at their new offices in Sacramento.  Jay Baer, a world-reowned social media strategy consultant and author of The Now Revolution, was the keynote speaker.

During the presentation the attendees were 'tweeting' up a storm.  You can follow the conversation on Twitter with the hashtag of #AdFarmLive.

Here are a few of the top tips and top Tweets from Jay Baer's presentation.............
  • If you're telling stories make it interesting by adding a personal touch using the people behind the story.
  • It doesn't matter what industry you're in, if you're in social media, you're in the storytelling business, but don't forget to listen.
  • Every customer is a reporter.
  • Personal and professional worlds are colliding.  Privacy is dead. Get used to it!
  • The number of Facebook fans has no linear association with business success.  It's all about interaction and engagement.
  • Soon customers will demand social media.
  • If you don't love social media, you s**k at social media.
  • Now, social media is a job, tomorrow it will be a skill.
  • To succeed in social media, you must create conversation
  • Always be listening, always be responding, always be storytelling.
  • Social media is about being social, about people.  That's why "social" is an integral part of the name.
  • Consistantly and quickly learn to say "thank you" and "I'm sorry" (business related).
You can view the recorded live stream of the event at: Ad Farm Facebook

After the presentation we took a tour of the new Ad Farm offices.  Here's a view of the CA state capital out my friend, Katie Pinke's office......sweet, right?!

And after that, a few of us headed down to the Grange Restaurant for a drink....
