Cow Camp Blogging Workshop - the recap

My day began rising at 6 a.m. yesterday, to get myself ready for the 40 minute drive north to Windsor, this year's location of the California Holstein Association Juniors Cow Camp days.  A jam packed 2 1/2 days of cow lovin' fun.  Just over 50 campers attended.  They camped outside under the stars for two nights in the beautiful Richard's Grove on the grounds of Saralee's Vineyard.
So, my role in Cow Camp was to give a blogging workshop to four groups of kids.  I had SO much fun!  What a GREAT group of kids!  We created a blog titled CA Cow Camp Bloggers that the kids will be able to update with some of their agriculture related activities such as showing at various fairs, state and nationwide competitions they participate in and caring for their calves, heifers and cows.  The purpose of the workshop was to give the kids a little taste of what blogging is all about.

The kids were able to rotate between four different morning workshops and four different afternoon workshops.  In the photo below, Rocco is giving a workshop on clipping and styling a calf to prepare her for show.  Yes, cows get their hair done too:)

And here is one of the morning blogging sessions.  The kids wrote out their blog posts, which consisted of a few sentences, on paper which I then entered on the blog later in the day.

And this is the beautiful drive between 'camp' and the 'class rooms'.....right through the vineyard.

I hope you'll pop on over to CA Cow Camp Bloggers to check out the updates the kids created while at Cow Camp and some fun photos!

I love to hear from you! Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to leave a comment. Have a fantastic day!
