Craziness, Cookies and 4H

'Twas the week before Christmas and it was CRAZY all around, couldn't sit for minute, couldn't afford to be lazy.
The hour before the 4H meeting came quickly upon us and  I realized with a fuss, that cookies were a definite must!
Oh my, oh my, what shall we do?
No other alternative but to bake, bake, bake.
We could do it, we could do it, I know, for goodness sake!

We somehow managed to bake a batch of sugar cookies & decorate them in time for the meeting.....phew!

But with this, I've finally come to the realization that I really need a better system to keep all of my family's activities and functions scheduled.  My calendar is just not cutting it!  Maybe my Droid can help me.

Our 4H club is really young with most members being of primary age,{5-8 years old} and only around eight members being over 8 years old, so sitting through the meeting portion is much more 'doable' when there's a fun activity at the end to look forward to like the cookie decorating contest we had the other night.

It's fun to see how creative these kids can be!

By the way, Bryce's cookie is the snowman in the lower right hand corner.

It was too tough for the judges to decide on winners so everyone walked away with some sort of prize for participation.

What scheduling system do you use to keep on track?  I need some help!

Great idea for a group of kids!
We have 2 wipe and write boards (2'x3') on our kitchen wall. I used colored vinyl tape to mark them off to look like calendars - there is one for the current month and one for the following month, when the month is over erase and start the month after next! Always have the current month and the next month for writing down commitments!

I just love reading your blogs! The cookies look great. I was once a 4-H leader and it was difficult to find a craft to do each time.

I don't know if you have sticky notes installed on your computer but I can tell you they keep me on schedule. I just pull them to the corner and keep a weekly/monthly schedule going and delete the days as they pass. They are always on my desktop so I can't miss anything unless, of course, I forget to type it in. lol

I think you are an amazing woman to accomplish all that you do with your family responsibilities and still have time to fit in so many friends.

Have a very merry Christmas.

Love, Ida

add the microsoft Outlook calendar, when I had it available at work. Incoming invitations could be put on when you accepted, and the calendar would show if your contacts had conflicts when you wanted to schedule a meeting. It doesn't network with other systems I have heard, and I no longer work there either. Maybe you will find a more global calendar like this one. Then if it is online already, you always have it available.

@Ida, Thank you so much for your kind words! And thank you for being a faithful reader:)
The sticky note program sounds like it might work, although I haven't seen it on my pc, but that doesn't mean I don't have it there....I'll look, thanks!

@Mary, I'll have to look into a program like outlook....maybe Google will work for me... Thank you for your tips, they are always appreciated! Have a great Saturday!
