Pizza Picnic

Some days when the work day is over, it's not really over.  Sometimes after the calves are fed their dinner, this is the last thing to do during Dominic's work day, there are extra things to accomplish in which there is not enough time to do during the work day.

When days like this occur, we try to make it a family event.  The other night, the kids, myself and Chloe packed up a pizza picnic, some raspberry lemonade and headed over to the portion of the property that sits behind Stafford Lake, where Dominic was already there and bulldozing some dirt.

It was one of those rare northern California evenings where the temperature was still at 80 degrees at 7 p.m.
Perfect picnic dinner weather.
No jackets required for a romp in the grass.  And thankfully Chloe's buzz cut was still in tact....no stickers pulling session for her.

After a quick dinner break, it was back on the extremely loud and ancient bulldozer for Dominic.
Where do you like to picnic??

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to leave a comment, I love to hear from you!. Have a fantastic day!

Looks like your family had a great time. You must not have the mosquitos that we have here in Iowa.

I love the pictures. Chloe's expressions are always entertaining. I've been following your blog for awhile and although I check your posts daily I've never commented until now. This is one of my favorite blogs to read each day. It reminds me so much of my childhood growing up on a farm and all the adventures involved!

The only picnic we do now is when the guys are in the field and I deliver their lunch and supper. What breed of dog is Chloe?

@Elizabeth and Anna, not too many mosquitos here....I think it's just normally too windy for them!

@Suz and Allan, I'm so glad you left a comment, it's so nice to 'meet' you!

@ann, Chloe is a Maltese/ShiTzu mix...we love her, total lap dog! Thanks for visiting:)

Fun family time! We try to stop for a day once a week in the summer for a picnic in our "city" (of 1000 people) park. It sometimes is homemade picnic I make and other times it's pizza from the local shop.

Picnics are so much more fun than just eating around the table :-)

Hi There, Thanks for coming to my blog. I am SO enjoying yours. I love reading about your lives--and the fact that you try to keep things as healthy and wholesome as possible for the family. It's never easy when you are young and raising children.

We are retired (raised 3 sons --and have 5 grands) and living the Golden Years the best way we can --traveling, gardening, birding, etc....

I love picnics --and yours sounds so NEAT--meeting hubby out there where he is working... Love it!!!!

Come back to my blog anytime and I will return to mine.
Hugs,
Betsy
