Yesterday was a full day in our household. After a full day at the county fair the day before and putting the kids to bed on later than usual, at 9:15 p.m., I had to physically wake them up at 8 a.m. Sunday morning. Paige needed to be in Sebastopol, which is a 45 minute drive from our house, by 9:30 a.m. to walk in the Sebastopol Portuguese procession.
Amazingly, we made it on time with smiles on our faces.
Last week, at the Petaluma Festa, we were so busy, we didn't have time to snap any photos of both Paige and her cousin, Morgan, together. Morgan is the Junior Queen for Petaluma. We took advantage of some extra time we had and snapped some pics.
Then it was time to line up in the Portuguese Hall parking lot to get ready to begin the procession. Here's the Petaluma entourage. All in attendance except Paige's side attendants who were stuck in NAS Car traffic on Hwy. 37. But they did make it in time for the procession on the way back.
It was a 30 minute walk.
Mostly in the shade. Thankfully......those queen capes can get quite hot.
We finished up in Sebastopol at around 12:30 or so. Just in time to head down to the show ring at our county fair for the awards ceremony. Awards are given out on the last day of the fair to the livestock exhibitors. Dominic, being one of the fair directors, needed to be there to hand out awards.
After the awards, the kids rode some more rides......they didn't want to leave, and we were finally home by 7 p.m.
Paige slept in until 9 this morning and Bryce, until 8a.m. Trying to catch up on a very long, tiring and fun week.
How was your Sunday?

How cool to wear one of those queen capes! Sounds like a great, but tiring, time for everyone.

That parade is so cute! Imagine getting to wear a cape like that?
When I was a kid we had to use mom's living room curtains. :)
Wow, those are some capes!
A queen in a parade ~ sounds like a little girl's dream come true, ok maybe a grown girl's dream too! Bet she wished she had a carriage to carry her though. That cape looks heavy!
How much fun is that...? To be worn out with fun days! :) I'm sure these will be wonderful memories when they're grown!
